We are a small family run stud situated close to Battle in East Sussex.
We have been breeding Shire horses for over 30 years and Cobs for nearly 15 years. The stud currently has three Shire and two Cob Stallions and about ten mares as well as youngstock of all ages.
WE ARE NOT DEALERS but breed a few foals each year some of which we sell but we usually have both home bred shires and cobs for sale at various ages.
Many of our horses have gone on to excel in various fields such as Horsmans Momentum owned by the Saunders family in Kent who has proven himself in the field of driving. Horsmans Bobby Dazzler a big winner in hand as a youngster including wins at the national show Peterborough, now in the Fullers Team driving as a single or pair, Horsmans our Harold exported to America and Horsmans Peggy Sue and Top Tune both exported to Switzerland.
Having selected our foundation stock we have endeavoured to breed to plan favouring certain tried and tested bloodlines such as Acle, Trelow and Hillmoor for the Shires and Derwen, Ebbw, Nebo and Trevallion for the cobs.
Our preference is for old fashioned type with plenty of substance and bottom. We like to breed Shires with bone and feather and cobs with bone and substance.
We try to avoid too much daylight under both our cobs and shires trying not to simply follow fashion.
